Ide performancetraining
Our program helps provide you with the guidance you need to achieve responsiveness, mutual respect, and an enhancement of quality of life with your dog. Our goal is to strengthen the bond between you and your pet to create a mutual understanding between animal an handler.
About Ide Performance Behavior Training
There are a LOT of different kinds of training programs and trainers out there. Not all training programs and training methods are equal and there are a lot of different philosophies presented.
Different trainers have different ways of reaching their success stories, so it's up to you to see what kind of trainer and methods fit you and your pet the best.
Since every dog is unique, we approach every training situation with great care and consideration.
We offer board and train as well as private training sessions that are designed specifically to you and your canine.
We do NOT offer public classes at this time. I have been in public class settings and personally do not feel that handlers get enough one on one attention and correction to validate training in this type of setting.
Training Philosophy:
Our philosophy is positive reinforcement with humane guidance. We direct our attention towards the basic commands that every canine needs a foundation in.
Tone - timing- technique
Your tone and timing during the interaction with your pet is crucial to your pet's success and understanding of what you are asking him or her to do.
what is the training goal?
We focus on helping every canine to become a better and more enjoyable companion to the family.
Session length
The time of the sessions and the amount of session performed for you and your dog are up to you. Before even talking to a trainer, determine what goals you would like to meet with your pet.
Typical private sessions last 45 minutes to an hour per session. Sessions will ALWAYS end on a good note!
How many sessions is very dependent on you and your dog.

Creation of Engagement between Handler and Dog
YOU SHOULD BE THE MOST EXCITING THING IN YOUR DOG'S LIFE!
BE CONSISTENT! 75% of training is training the handler. You and everyone in your household needs to be on the same page to achieve the results you are seeking.
Both you and your pet should be confident in various environments and potentially "scary" situations.
Training Methods
The kind of training method we use is "old school". Dogs should not be trained entirely with treats, or they will become dependent on food for results. That's why with "POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT" we construct the TONE - TIMING - TECHNIQUE philosophy.
Yes, I use treats, but very little!
-------------------------
When treats/food is used for training motivation, the best method is to "keep your dog hungry" - which is how a lot of sport dog and K9 trainers motivate their dogs. Your dog's body condition will make a big difference with this approach.
In my personal opinion, if you HAVE to use a shock collar to get your dog's attention, you are doing something wrong. Training needs to be exciting, enjoyable, and engaging for both handler and animal.

WHAT I NEED TO GET READY FOR MY DOG IN ORDER TO DO BOARD AND TRAIN?
BEFORE drop off, email current vaccination and full vet records to ideperformance@gmail.com
1. Full health history and veterinary records, INCLUDING VACCINATION RECCORD. Must have an updated Distemper/Hepatitis/Parainfluenza/Parvovirus vaccination, Bordetella vaccination, and Rabies vaccination.
2. Recent vet visit proof with a clear bill of health.
3. Your dog MUST BE ON heartworm preventative and flea preventative.
4. Enough food for the duration that is agreed on for board-and-train.
Where Will Sessions be Held?
Depending on you and your pet's needs and goals, sessions can take place at your residence, in Stephenville Park, around your neighborhood, and in dog-friendly local stores.
The starting point very much depends on your dog's desensitization exposure and if they need to begin in a distraction free environment, or if they are further along in their obedience training.
Training Disclaimer:
Training doesn't stop. You can be given the tools and guidance to be successful, but it is up to the owners to use what is taught and continue to work with their dogs and hold their dogs accountable with the understanding that if owners fail to maintain the training and use the tools given, dogs can revert back to unwanted behaviors that training helps prevent.
I am not always accepting new training clients. If you think you are interested in training sessions or a 'board and train' for your pet, message me to see if I am taking new clients and let me know what your goals are.
If I cannot help you, I will refer you to a trusted trainer that can.
